Include Employees When You Give Thanks
Thanksgiving! That wonderful time of year when we pull out the sweaters, find our stretchy pants and salivate over the amazing food we are planning to share with friends and family. It’s also a time when we reflect on all of our blessings and the people we are most thankful for.
As a leader, do you include your employees when you give thanks? Do you tell them?
Your team is your number one asset, not your vendors or even your customers, as important as they are. Without your staff, where would you be?
Unfortunately, many leaders are not creating an environment in which employees feel valued. Although as a leader you cannot actually motivate your workforce, you can produce an environment that does.
Most employees want to feel as if they are part of the inner circle of their companies. The interaction and communication of employees with their managers play a key role in employee morale. A harmonious interpersonal relationship with your employees can make a person feel that they make a difference to the company. Employees want to feel valued and held in serious regard by their management.
If employees are negative and unhappy about their workplace and feel unappreciated, morale will be low. And when morale is low, production and commitment are low.
So this Thanksgiving, let your team know just how much your appreciate them. Keep it up and watch the environment in your organization thrive!
